The other choice for your reception entertainment is the wedding dj. These folks dont actually perform the music but rather make sure that recorded music... ie YOUR choice in recorded music... is the entertainment at your reception. You should be able to work with the DJ so that they know when specific things are going to happen from the best man's toast to the garter and bouquet toss and ensure that there is a microphone availible if needed. At the very least the music should be muted at those times. Make sure the DJ you pick is willing to bend to your specific reception needs rather than someone who is there to play his own taste in music. Also make sure the wedding site you have picked has any equipment he might need from a PA (public address) system to a stage to everything in-between.
